The things that set Dishonored apart for me were its focus on immersive-sim gameplay ala Deus Ex or Thief and its incredible world building and art direction. I think both of those things have been carried forward and expanded upon quite nicely with the sequel.

I think the level design is far more interesting, with more verticality and detail, which is part of the larger whole of Karnaka being more interesting than Dunwall, at least to me. I’m also really enjoying playing as Emily. Being able to grab things with far reach is loads of fun and I love domino - it’s that kind of

For me, it’s just that the first Dishonored had a very distinct personality, while the sequel doesn’t. I don’t know if that’s because the sequel decided on letting you play as one of two protagonists (even though it’s clear that Emily is the intended POV character), if they didn’t want to stray too far from the

When you find out (SPOILERS) who the Crown Killer is so early in the game, and that it wasn’t actually their fault, I remember thinking, “Wait...that’s it?” I just stared at the screen, dumbfounded at such a weak reveal. The option to kill or spare the Crown Killer wasn’t hard at all after that.
