That’s my point. They were willing to overlook his overt bigotry and coddling of bigotry, just to spite Hillary. If anyone else had won the Republican Primary, I wouldn’t be saying this. Sure, I’d disagree politically, but that’s not so big a deal. With Trump, the disagreement is on morality, not just politics.

I agree. My point is that it wasn’t just the media and her campaign. Every one of us who is aghast at what has happened overestimated the moral fiber of the country as a whole. It’s a depressing thought, but here we are.

I’m not saying that is was sexism against Hilary that doomed her.  It’s not that Hilary had it stacked against her more than Obama. The only area I think she has it harder was from greater familiarity before her campaign. there’s a lot of people out there that have outright hated her since she was first lady. I’m…

Are you sure you meant to reply to me? I didn’t say anything was impossible. I didn’t say anything is inevitable. All I said was that there’s more bigots than we think. Despite those bigots, we have a black man in the white house. Apparently race is less of an issue to those people than gender.

impossible? How’d you get to that point? My points was that to most people around here, it seems that it’s inconceivable to overlook the racist and misogynist things Trump said or implied throughout his campaign. Apparently to a large chunk of the country, it was quite easy to overlook.
