I think its the nature of how it comes across in textbooks. It’s required content in California, where I have taught history. I have taught middle school up through high school history. The issue is three-fold.

When I was teaching history I loved teaching students about “hidden figures” like this. Lewis Latimer and Bass Reeves are two of my favorites. Oscar James Dunn, you made the list.

It’s always good for El Presidente Naranja to show us he has no idea what legal respect he is due according to his position.

I think the Eagles did pretty well too!

The reason you want a crisp, short, “this is the show” it to keep you on course while making it.

I hope to all that is Good and Holy that even our current Supreme Court can get this right.

If these guys were actually fired BECAUSE of the race that IS racial discrimination.

And actually I picked that info up in college, in Viriginia...in a class called the Problem of Slavery....which was about why slavery was a PROBLEM.

Which sucks because SO MANY textbooks are created in Texas and it influences textbooks across the nation!

These shirts are beyond stupid. The racist and child slavery connotations are just stage one.

Seriously, does anybody know how the “grey” thing works?

It’s true that college education doesn’t guaruntee a good life...but neither does money. Education makes your more likely to hold on to your money and overall just a good thing. I think free tuition should at least be part of a reparations package.

I couldn’t even get past the headline before my entire response was distilled into this.

I am a chemistry teacher at the high school level. I have also taught history. Sadly, in my mind, that makes equally qualified to the Supreme Court to take this case. My limited knowledge of the law (I took a class on Law and Education) matches up with the Supreme Court’s totally wobbly science knowledge.

She got offered a raw deal. I am not dropping Netflix because she walked away from a bad deal. She didn’t like and and didn’t take it. Asking people to boycott because you didn’t get paid should not be a negotiating tactic against a company that does not have to offer you a deal in the first place.

That can be the case. All I can say is where I work (LAUSD), the superintendent is a woman, my local district superintendent is a woman, our director of instruction is a woman, my director (my principal’s boss) is a woman. My principal is man. Of those I listed, only the director of instruction is NOT of person of

This is one of the reasons I like teaching, pay equality is contractual. When its not like on TV, cast has to stick together or it will not happen.

Since its an Australian creation how the goblins are treated it could be a commentary on how Australians act towards and view the Aboriginal people there. Both are people to push around and take anything of value from. I am not Australian and I only know the term Aboriginal, not the actual names the groups call

I am hoping...since this isn’t the people vs corporate rights (where we know where the Supreme Court falls) but people vs. government rights, that they land on the side of justice and equality.

I wouldn’t be surprised that if in Texas if the ACLU called them out on it Texas would not care
