Yeah but Texas has always wanted to destroy public education. Florida seems to be having a “hold my beer” moment in that respect.

the law is pure entrapment. the"unknowingly" part sums it up. basically if a student snuck a book in as a prank and put it on the shelf, the teacher is now a felon. if a parent sneaks a book in, the teachers a felon. and because it only applies to teachers, the parent faces no penalty
Seriously, having books taken and seeing empty shelves are going to be far more traumatic for kids than reading about penguins in love or a book with black characters. But I guess it’s harder to brainwash people if they know how to read
Denying children a quality education is institutionalized abuse. It’s way past time for a Federal takeover of Florida schools. I’m sure Blue State taxes are paying a huge chunk of their school budgets anyway.
No child. Anywhere. Ever. Ever ever ever, has had “permanent” transition methods. Never.
...and yet, people conceive kids at (and well below) 18, which seems like a hell of a ‘life choice’ to me, but no one is banning or stopping that.
They never, ever care about actual facts here. Almost NO teenagers are pursuing gender affirming surgery, and they most certainly aren’t in South Dakota where that would have been incredibly difficult anyway. Puberty blockers are prescribed quite readily to cisgender teenagers and have been historically. This is all…
God you are stupid. Any permanent transitions - such as surgery - aren’t offered to children, nor can they be “reversed” by simply weaning someone off of drugs or something. All that language about “winding down treatment” makes it fairly obvious that its a lie to claim this is about stopping children from making…
More cis kids go on hormonal medications and get cosmetic surgery than trans kids. And studies show that kids/teens who transition before they’re eighteen are happier than their trans peers who are forced to wait. Gender affirming care for trans kids & teens does the opposite of destroy lives, it saves them.
No permanent transition methods are being used you dingleberry
The only thing that destroys the lives of children is forcing them to go through a puberty they don’t want

The Janine and Gregory plotline is the weakest part of Abbott Elementary for me.
I assume much like how a director might not want their movie jokingly labeled NC 17, the devs might not want their game jokingly marked for sexual content and stuff that makes their game probably harder to find on Steam/probably get review bombed from people who thought they were buying a traditionally sexy game.
Air seems like such a weird idea for a movie. “Hey, want to see a movie about a sneaker company signing a basketball player to an endorsement contract?” “Hell yeah! $13 tickets here I come!”
Maybe we can put a Go-Fund-Me together for her.
The more horrible thing is that cheerleaders are effectively unpaid. They have these gruelling workloads, coupled with intense physical requirements and restrictive diets, and they basically don’t make any money off it. It’s super exploitative.
I’m not worried about her. I’m worried about the back up band and dancers.
If they were paying, they could afford to get any number of much better performers than Rhianna.
