Not the treatable kind of mental illness. This isn’t something a depressed person or someone with schizophrenia would do. This is full on, non treatable narcissism type shit.

He’s not a mental health professional. He’s not trained to deescalate situations like this. He was just some guy in a scary situation, probably just desperately trying to avoid his kids getting hurt.

She shot both daughters in the house, instantly killing one. She chased the other onto the lawn and shot her again. Then went into the house, RELOADED, then went back out to shoot her daughter again, after which she was shot.

You have NO IDEA what that woman put him through leading up to that (admittddly foolish, but likely ineffectual) statement. I guarantee you that she’d *emotionally* destroyed ALL of their lives long before this. He’s been a dead man walking for years.

I suspect that he said that because she had spent years making that threat and he just couldn't take it anymore.
