in sadness too, looking at the news at all the crap happening with quakes, tsunamis, flash floods etc., disaster movies likely are going to go up to (unless we're counting them as sci-fi already?).

Suspect that the percentages of ppl who believe in lightsabers and seeing gravity are about the same as those who are crazy in the general populace. It's positive though in the sense that yay, we actually do have sci fi nuts!

Another method is a hard enough hit to the head area to erase some memories. The harder the hit the more memory lost is the outcome of the studies found so far.

what a waste of bloody money.

... now for the mecha suits and we'd be complete

Just thought to say that "puberty watch" is absolutely an adorable phrase. Except its not a phrase is it? Well, it's a giggler for me anyway.

Thank you Ms. Newitz, this was exactly what I needed to cheer me up on an extremely rotten day! I love that video loop!!!!

"I felt like when I looked at these guys, because we shot in Louisiana in the middle of the summer, when I looked in their eyes they'd looked exhausted, like they'd been to hell and back."

awesome, ta much

shot, thanks. Just makes me wonder if perhaps io9 couldn't also run a submissions section where fan fic could run.

Pretty great site. Is there an equivalent or counterpart for sci-fi?

not seen much footage of the show (is there any that exist?), but the news bits i've read have been on the usual accidents etc which the media seem more focused on for obvious reasons.

Actually, you make a good point and raise an interesting topic of discussion. Has there been an effort of thought or discussion to support how the Empire could have maintained their control, slowly reeling in the Rebels yet putting in place gradually policies and measures that would have created a stable universe

Or maybe it was that Del Toro had cast good ol' el torro himself (the one currently plaguing the news with his 'I'm winning' rants) as the lead instead of Mr. Jerry McGuire!
