Mate, no-one ever stated it is not a racing game. But their approach to the racing make it a very different kind of game compared to most traditional racers. That’s what makes racing in this game fun for me.

But that is maybe the beauty and the power, you don't have to race to enjoy it. My sons love the other games, but never race. They enjoy driving around in fast cars and taking down fences. And yet you always get rewarded. 

I guess it does, but I like the feel of racing rather than the continuous same laps and practice you need at pretty much any other racing game. I like need for speed hot pursuit and the burnout series for similar reasons. The moment it gets too serious I'm out.
