Recently rewatched “The Shield”, and I was shocked how timely it felt against the backdrop of the George Floyd killing and BLM protests. At the end of the day, The Strike Team got away with murder and more because the institution and prestige of law enforcement protected them. Sure, Vic Mackey is set up as the

+1. I’ve autocrossed a completely stock Type R (with Star Specs, the best street tire at the time) and built a GSR as close to a Type R as I could afford (Konis, Ground Controls, huge rear sway, Type R transmission, P&P head, Type R cams, AC delete, big brakes). The Type R is a screamer, instant feedback and

Funny, I’ve been on the lookout for an EP3 for some time. There’s a weird market for them, very manic. One of my favorite cars to drive and great on gas.

Oh, that’s five rules. The last one was an add-on . . . I can count.

I’ve developed the same habit and the thing is, it can be cheap depending on your choice and taste of cars. In the past five years, I’ve owned the following cars:

Yes, the car has more vents and lines than anything I can recall, but the previous Type R had a similar look where everything served a purpose.

This car has been on CL for months. I thought about it for 5 minutes when thinking of the best way to have fun at autocross, then remembered that well-running C5s can be had for less.

I wonder what that lateral acceleration number jumps to with Rival S or RE71Rs on the wheels . . . My guess is at least a .5 jump . . . That is a nasty car for autocross.

Had this happen to me while swapping transmissions on my Integra.

Beastly little SUVs that are quick and able to climb through the roughest terrain. I saw one of these with basic sliders and nothing else out crawl several built Jeeps and FJs at Rausch Off Road park a few years back.

I’ve lived in Louisiana, a state with lackluster inspections more bald tires per square mile than anywhere else in the country, and Florida, a state with no inspections, and now reside in Pennsylvania. My quick take:

This truck is a collector’s piece, no way should it ever see the road. Rust-free, original paint, near-perfect interior and one owner? Yeah, it is too rich for my blood, but I want this truck to be loved and cared for in a temperature controlled garage and only driven on sunny weekends.

The IS300 will last forever, saw one the other week with 300k+ miles.

$225. They have curbage, but are perfect for winter wheels.

I’m in PA, you can pick them up if you like (or you can pick them up when I’m in Jersey City next week).

I paid $300 about a year ago.

Purely for autocross . . . needed a set of 17x8s with an offset of at least 48ET. Cheapest/quickest option to make Dixie.

Like a kindler, gentler WRX . . . there goes my resale value.

I drove my father’s across Texas (Houston to San Antonio to Austin and back to Houston) and truly fell in love with the car. It’s happiest being pushed and is predictable. The car did grow on me, much like you, I wasn’t impressed at first, but the balance is intoxicating.

I daily a 2015 WRX and my father owns a FRS. The WRX is so much faster, but the FRS is a better ‘fun’ car. Turn-in is ultra quick, there’s plenty of acceleration to break the tires loose and the car feels even more solid than my WRX.

Why did I buy a WRX? Because I have two kids and they’d kill me if I tried shoving one
