One could give Arquette the benefit of the doubt with her statement, but the fact is that her immediate privilege garbled her meaning at the time. How about offering a platform for women of color to address this speech instead of telling us what we should think?

I'm not talking about something you've never watched. You never watched the walking dead. It's not like you watched it, enjoyed it, and then stopped watching it because there are people in your life who watch it and post annoying things about it in social media. In which case, the problem is the stupid annoying

I fucking love Claire. She's the ultimate Ice Queen.

It's true. On the other hand, the Financial District would rank third on my list after Port Authority and 42nd and Broadway. It really is a shitty part of Manhattan. There's something ironic about Vogue having their offices in the worst parts of the city. Murray Hill isn't looking so bad anymore.

But LeCaféAuLait is talking about something they used to enjoy and stopped doing because people they dislike also read it and talk about it. I just don't see why you should let an annoying douche deprive you of something you enjoy. Why not just block them from your feed instead of no longer reading something you used

That's what I was thinking. That there has to be some kind of backstory here because they couldn't possibly be that idiotic and sexist. But then it is Texas so anything is possible.

Britters, please stop wearing choker necklaces. They are not your friends.

I just think it kind of says a lot about a person if they're so easily influenced by the readership or viewership of a show or, in this case, website. And even if that's your knee-jerk reaction, you would think you would realise how irrational it is and try to judge the thing based on its own merit...

So you let the fact that you don't like a Kid Food Review reader turn you off? Seriously?

Um, both actually. Why does it have to be either or?

This. You can't be curious, you can't mess up, you can't ask questions. You have to shut up and agree or else you're accused of being a "white feminist" or "problematic". God forbid we actually have an honest, two-way conversation...

Yeah, that makes it better but I just don't like big resort towns, regardless. Just not my thing. The only time I was in Cancún was because I landed there and then went straight to Isla Holbox which is right off the coast. Now that is my idea of paradise: http://www.ft.com/cms/s/2/2c5150…

Or that, you know, the drug cartels and subsequent violence are a direct result of the US' idiotic War on Drugs...

No, it's not. There are variations from one place to the next and there are a lot of beautiful places to visit in Mexico that are safer than your average US city. Don't be ignorant.

I wouldn't go to either but not because of safety concerns, mostly because they're fucking godawful resort towns full of drunk tourists. Same goes for Puerto Vallarta.

Thanks for the input!

No, she doesn't have real dreadlocks either, they're dread extensions and you can get your own. Zendaya was sporting a pixie cut at the grammys.

No. We can't ever move on. And from now on, every time Giulianna's name is uttered at Jezebel, reference will be made to how she's a racist twat and remember that comment she made about Zendaya's hair, and how much white people suck. And no matter how many times she apologises, it will never be good enough or sincere

Of course not. And I agree that it shouldn't be the case. But look at mainstream culture and ads and stuff, all the hairstyles and magazines that you're exposed to are all about white hair.

Btw I'm Hispanic (and white), so this didn't happen to me while I was a tourist, it happened at home, it happened in my own culture. I agree it's not the same because of the simple fact that I am a white woman and we're talking about a distinctly American experience but just wanted to point out that people can attract
