Wow! That is very interesting! I have such a love/hate relationship with sleep. I should share that with my BF. He also suffers from depression and he sleeps WAY differently from me (that is, far deeper and with more nightmares/night terrors/sleep-talking etc)...if anything I would wager that my norm is to get less

Oooooh I’d love to get some interchangeables someday! I don’t really need to, however, since I have inherited a TON of needles of almost all sizes! My BF’s mother kept his deceased grandmother’s stash just on the off chance somebody might want it someday. I feel like I got to know her a bit, going through the bags of

I can speak to that. When I am depressed, it is almost impossible not to sleep far far longer than I would otherwise BUT I have realized that giving in makes the depression worse and/or longer.

Knitting for me. I actually practiced some extreme self-care yesterday by spending literal hours organizing all of my knitting needles and accessories in nice, neat, and attractive ways.

“It was like he was filibustering rational thinking.”

I did it in Math. Teacher mentioned to my parents that she totally knew but did not care. I got through a LOT of the Outlander series that way...

Squeal of yayness! I will watch this tonight :)

OMG there is a Tudor one?! I saw the Edwardian and Victorian ones a while ago because Mallory Ortberg was live-tweeting them and I just had to know.

I think honestly that’s a “nice” way of saying they don’t like poorly-performed sex acts. Or at least, that’s what I’ve meant when I’ve said it...

Maaaaaaaybe a little ;) Just be glad it’s not you!

I’m not sure about this case, but usually in cultures with that idea, men try to have sex with women as little as possible to prevent themselves from losing TOO MUCH of their manly power. (Or at least that’s what early anthropologists thought and it may or may not reflect actual beliefs). Here is an example: https://en

I was wondering about that too. The very first thought that popped into my head was “well, yeah, when women are dead, they can’t be threatening!” Then I was sad(der).

Oh no! I hope you managed to explain that one! He has also sat up in a terror and called me some other name in his sleep before.I’m really glad he’s been sleeping better lately because it got scary sometimes. Once he thought something was, like, in the bed and started ripping the covers off in his sleep, so then I was

There is also the potential abuse angle...I feel like it was probably a lot of things. People are complex, yo.

I believe it was all of them feeling sick, yes. I hadn’t heard this part of the story until very recently because my brother has a TON of Lizzie Borden knowledge and was telling me all about it/playing me the soundtrack to a recent rock opera about it.

Yeah that is terrifying. TERRIFYING.

They are really adding something to my experience here. Good work.
