I almost always checked too, but I had that blow up in my face many times.

Ah. Sounds like the comment war was exactly what goes through the barista’s head at that moment. I would have that problem AT Starbucks, because while the sign said “Caffe Latte,” we didn’t use that term and some customers did NOT mean Latte when they said it but most were just reading off the sign. Essentially, there…
I obsessively buy Ticonderoga because I spent a lot of childhood using much worse pencils. Maybe I need to branch out!
I love love love pencils, but I also use a fountain pen so maybe I am the weird one, like the owner of this shop.
I always assumed they meant also “consensual incest,” using the assumption that a baby conceived in that way would be more likely to have developmental problems. I don’t think they are making any sort of statement on the legality or consensuality of incest, but rather it falls more under the category of abortion due…
I feel like I really do hate all men...with exceptions. Luckily, there are a lot of exceptions because most individual men I interact with on a daily basis actually are not dickwads BUT STILL.
OMG it does that is why it felt so much MORE wrong than just the wrong it was to begin with.
I guess I missed that...and I can think of quite a few things that could mean. Care to fill me in?
Oh yes. I particularly loved people who would ask for something that was literally impossible and throw a fit and exclaim that they get it all the time when you try to help them figure out what they are asking for.
I think that is very true. I had to assume those customers were dragged in by other people, because in that case REALLY why are you at Starbucks? They wanted to convince me it was simple, but it really isn’t when you have a set menu of options.
I would definitely order that just for the name.
Ironically, I used to get people asking me to just stick coffee and ice in a blender INSTEAD of a frappuccino when I worked at Starbucks “like they do at other coffee places.” You really can’t ever win.
See, what I never ever understood was the sheer number of Starbucks customers who said extra dry when they actually meant wet and could not listen to reason about that. Heck, I don’t really understand ordering a dry cappuccino at a Starbucks...it’s possible, sure, but why not get that somewhere else?
That was my thought exactly. I was pro-marriage in high school because I was young and idealistic and hadn’t yet ended the terrible long-term relationship I was in. Living life a little and experiencing more relationships and really thinking about what my parent’s marriage/divorce was like made me realize that way way…
THIS is essentially what it all comes down to for me. Someday, I will probably make enough to have a financial reason to marry BF. For now? I see no need.
ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww
Honestly, I am, pretty sure that is the same kind of thing as cat-calling. It IS meant to be one-sided and uncomfortable.
That is so sad. Baklava is the absolute best.
Having worked as STAFF on a journal (I mean, like, currently) SOMEBODY definitely should have read all of that in detail just to check. I suppose a staff member may not have felt it was their place to step in, but I’m pretty sure in my office we would have looked into it.
I don’t really understand why exuberant is on there?
