That is disgusting. Out of curiosity, how did you respond?

From what I’ve seen, most of them ARE because women are the people who feel inspired to DO that research.

“find a hobby”?

That is sneaky and I love it.

Additionally, sarcasm. I have been called a “stuck-up bitch” for being generally sarcastic. I have never ever heard somebody criticize that quality in a man.

There was a guy on my bus who kept insisting on informing me when the bus was about to pull up. I was looking right at it and reaching for my wallet so...I’m not even really sure what he thought he was accomplishing. Now I take the bus 5 min earlier...

That shit is terrible. I never noticed whether there was a gender disparity, but I was never ever called on since I always knew answers and I think that has a lot to do with my reluctance to speak up as an adult. I’m working on it, but it still makes me FEEL like I’m about to be accused of being a know-it-all show-off.

It's not a matter of sensitivity. You can go through entire days of grueling work where nobody (including coworkers/management) treats you like a human being, much less an equal and that is BOUND to eat away at your resolve.

Yeah, like, I knew it was going to be a train wreck but dang it was a quick one.

I hated that stage so much. I did finally get it to end by convincing him he would pay less in rent. #romance

(I meant the visceral reaction to it, i.e. disgust, was drilled into me)

This is exactly what I thought. Thank you. Sometimes I wonder how much of my visceral reaction to evopsych is just because it was drilled into me as an anthropology major...and then I SEE some in the wild and I don't have to worry anymore.

The best thing is to get Smartwool socks as a gift. That's what my outdoorsy SO's mother gave me for Xmas and it was beautiful.

See, I was always under the impression that portrait just WAS Anne Boleyn. Dammit history, you're so much more interesting when people stop pretending they KNOW stuff for sure.

That's a great point too. For me it's also not wanting to brush my hair or put mascara on for work. Those are tiny things and I care that I look at least minimally put-together, so not taking a minute for that is a sign.

Oh em gee that is the best.

Ah thank you so much that's fascinating. And that is then the root of the word wife?

Yes please this bugs me so much because it's like degrading whatever thing "woman" is supposed to be modifying (in the sense that it is meant that way, not in the sense that being a woman makes one less of a senator)

Is it...a first edition of a particular translation? Depending on which, I'd still be down for that.
