Can I go to where you work and demand free samples of everything you do before I make a decision on whether or not to partake in your products or services?

But how does the game know that it’s a pirated version? What stops a legitimate copy from behaving in this way? Is there not a way to fix the pirated version with code that would stop that stuff from happening?

The only problem with picking a Final Fantasy game is it’s going to start a nerd war regardless of which one you pick.

If the point is understood, does it matter in the end?

If using the xkcd method, I like to also makes sure the phrase doesn’t make any sense in any context other than my password.

I recall reading a web comic where one of the characters was a graphics designer and they bemoaned how they went through an entire college career, spending the monies along the way, to become a graphics designer. Only for corporations to pick the most mundane, featureless thing they can for their branding.

What do you call someone who does mediocre work at best, demands you provide them with resources, and doesn’t seem to respect your time or the fact you have things to do too?

It’s government regulation, but only if the other side does it.

I don’t know if this is a thing but when I’ve been sweating a ton, I get a different kind of thirst. Like I need to down a thing of Gatorade to feel satisfied.

Some things I’ve done to make my life less miserable in coach:

On Windows, probably because Microsoft wants to pass the licensing fee onto the consumer, you can view HEIC/HEIF files with a plug in. But it requires a $0.99 plugin to view HEVC video files:

I might steal this idea, because I have these cravings where the only thing on my mind is “I need a damn burger,” but they come up when I’m at home.

This is probably a niche thing but another thing to consider if you have a NAS, see if you can have it go to sleep whenever you don’t need it running. In my case, I have mine go to sleep in the middle of the night. While I could schedule it to wake up regularly, I don’t actually use it that much so I have it sleep

And that’s a problem with older games, especially on the PC. PC gamers like to rave about how backwards compatibility is king and they can play any game from 1981 until now.

Coffee grinds are also a really good repellent against ants.

Out of curiosity, did you measure the amount of oil that came out of the car vs how much you put in at every oil change with every car you had an oil change with?

The irony that Japanese PC games used to have a reputation that pressing Esc was a great way to suddenly quit the game (or at least open a prompt)

I also wonder if any of these numbers have any actual effect on practical user experience. I primarily use Firefox, but I don’t see myself going “I wish this were faster” whenever I use Edge for some random thing I need Edge for.

My biggest gripe, and it’s a small thing, with the Steam version was a good number of sound effects were incorrect.
