Do some research on the infrastructure behind Live and you'll realise it's not the same situation at all.

It's not making it harder in general, it just means you have to be smarter to invest. Buy things other people haven't thought about it and sell at the right time. There's always something that becomes worth more in the future. You just have to be smart about it.

Well, that's one reason for you to be happy that comics are moving in the digital direction.

It's not just collecting to sell, it's called an investment. You speculate, accumulate and hopefully one day profit.

That's only the date that the code expires. You can input the code now and simply extend your membership from what it already is for another 12 months.

You're not paying for Netflix 'again'. They're restricting access to those that have paid to support the Live service because you're putting a load on the Live servers and using bandwidth on their backbone. No one is going to give you that for free.

I just make sure that nothing shows up when I view as public.

It's basic science that if the outer case is this warm, the temperature is higher inside. How much higher, is anyone's guess.

Win.

Don't most people back up data? I've ripped every DVD and Blu-Ray I own to a media server. I'd be fucked if I was doing it again because I didn't expect a mechanical device prone to failure to fail. I've got 3 separate copies of that data and I hope that's all I ever need.

It's still a delicate, mechanical device that's based on 50's technology. Shouldn't we have gotten rid of them by now?

It couldn't possibly be coincidence that the best 9 people for those positions happened to be white and male, could it? It must be racism.

Creative types used to be Apple's bread & butter. Mac Pros were the cash cow. Then everyone and their dog started buying iPods, iPhones and iPads and Apple fucked over their loyal fanbase and went where the cash is. I know they're a business, but it's not way to treat the people who built your business from the ground

You think OSX turning into iOS will drive people to Windows? Have you tried Windows 8? It's out of the frying pan and into the fire. I'll stick with whatever one of the companies works out that trying to shoehorn a touch based UI into a desktop machine is fucking idiotic first. So far, it's neck and neck.

He only found out at that moment his pictures was being taken for Apple. He thought he worked somewhere else. :)

I believe you're correct.

Sure, they might go with a more iOS orientated interface, but they underlying code is still going to be OS X. It has to be for backwards compatibility sake. They're still going to need engineers who know that OS code inside out. I think this is making a mountain out of a molehill.

Obligatory "same combination as my luggage" comment.

Thankfully Facebook added the great feature where you can go to your timeline and choose to view it as the public would see it. It helps to make sure you've got things locked down correctly.

Asking for something, unless it's an illegal act, service or substance, is rarely breaking any laws and I'd ask you to point to which law them asking for your password is breaking. Unethical, yes, but not illegal as far as I know.
