To be fair, both the Internet and SMS pre-date that camera. /nerd-hat

For another reason, despite those stated below: Battery Life. With most SLRs, you can switch off the display completely and the thing is essentially only using power when you take an image. Without an optical viewfinder, there's no way to see what you're shooting without using power.

...and then posted online that you faked it. You know just anyone can read the Internet, right?

You can't really state how rare it is to get stuck in an elevator. It all comes down to how well maintained an elevator is. If you live in a building with a shitty one, your odds of getting stuck once or multiple times rise greatly. Just like your chances of being killed in a plane crash rise substantially if an

Seems OCD is more widespread than previously thought.

No graphics format uses "pixels". You mean vectors are not bitmapped. I don't see the need for them to use vector format or anything else odd. They already have a format that achieves essentially the same thing, as it says in the article.

They're asking for what is essentially a key. You have no right to privacy if you're suspected of a crime. You have to hand over physical keys if demanded by law and the same applies here. I'm sure even if this succeeds and sets a legal precedent, the law will be changed to make it an offence to not supply the

I spent weeks researching and picking my new P&S camera last month. High speed video is not limited to just Casio. I saw it mentioned in the reviews of many cameras. It may not be touted in the specs, but they have it. The Lumix TZ20 is one that comes to mind, off the top of my head.

Yes, it's always when I'm in another country. Believe me, it's hugely expensive for me to use my phone outside my own country.

How does that help? I'd still be paying the roaming rate for an SMS. Still isn't better than the phonebook in that situation.

I've used phone books multiple times in recent times but only in hotel rooms. Usually I just need info for a local business and I don't want to pay the laughable hotel wifi prices or the roaming charges to look it up on my phone. It's quicker, cheaper and easier to just open the phonebook.

I don't understand. You say this is cosmetic, the name "playstation network" will continue and that this thing will align itself along with the PSN, so what exactly is it? It's a cosmetic name change for what?

So you're familiar with the procedure of modding firmware, which I assume you've done yourself, and your friend turned down the inevitable invitation from a friend to get a modded system and free games? Sorry, I don't buy it.

I believe if someone is replacing DVD drives in his console and is even aware of the concept of "firmware" then it's highly likely he's modded the console at some point.

Writing a novel, are we?

Must have given a moment of thought for Nintendo that this many people weren't arsed about buying a tablet controller for a console.

If you're going to steal jokes from XKCD, at least give the guy credit.

All it does is add to charge list for when they're inevitably caught.

Yet you assume you can't and you don't even know how long the downtime will be. You had your calendar marked to play a two year old game on this exact date and you can't possibly do it at any other time?

How about reading, eh? "Top titles Assassin's Creed: Revelations and Driver: Francisco will remain playable online throughout the server move across PC and all console platforms." Now that you know you CAN play those games, I bet you don't. You just wanted to complain.
