What? That's not Meg, that's Holly Golightly.

Meaningless is a near-perfect pop album that should be better known. Jon Brion's scores are often incredible (I Heart Hucksbeess, Eternal Sunshine, and Punch-Drunk Love being the obvious standouts), and he's an awesome producer, but it's a shame he never recorded another solo album. He's such a great pop songwriter.

You know, I had the same problem when it came to women and movies all through my teen years. On four separate occasions, I'd be on a first or second date with a girl, always to see a movie of their choice, and instead of making out with them (which was sometimes almost explicitly stated as the reason we were there), I

And, of course, by "a slight problem" you mean "what makes this study a half-assed failure"

Doesn't that also describe Eternal Sunshine?

Have you seen the Science of Sleep? I haven't watched it since it was released, but I remember loving it at the time. I'm surprised nobody in your response thread has mentioned it yet. (Do people not like it? It's nowhere near as poor as Human Nature or The Green Hornet… )

To be honest, I was actually speaking more to Baumbach's work ("ugh") than to Stillman's—all I've seen is Metropolitan, The Last Days of Disco, and part of Damsels. He only has four movies to his name, which doesn't exactly leave room for a broadly-explored spectrum of filmmaking.
