Yeah, I also thought that was a pretty lazy way to define the movie. "Melancholy and low-key" is actually sort of perfect.

Scarlett Johansson's voice is the least appealing thing about her. I know that's blasphemy or whatever because everyone thinks she's the perfect example of an attractive human being, but the husky/smoker voice that she and people like Lindsay Lohan have always comes off as irritating to me.

I have not, but that's pretty fantastic!
As someone with a host of issues nowhere near as severe as Hannah's OCD (but pretty awful to deal with in their own right), I can tell you that it's 100% realistic for Hannah to appear symptom free for the bulk of the series and then suddenly become overcome with her illness.
Are you speaking for yourself personally, then? Because when I watch the show, it makes me feel good that I'm the same age as these characters and nowhere near as emotionally and mentally messed up as they are.
That's mildly terrifying and I really hope you can get some kind of help or treatment eventually.

"Annie Hall knows what nadir means."
This was easily darker than the sex scene at the end of Tiny Furniture.
Exactly.
I'm with you. I'm baffled as to why @avclub-1922cc1dc1286b56a2d99b7f1aa0630c:disqus is giving Hannah so much shit for calling her parents.
A lot of girls I know in college who watch the show also seem to think of it as an "edgier", younger Sex and the City.
I can't tell if you're being sarcastic or not.
As a soon-to-be film school graduate who also caught the error and totally understands the compulsion to correct it: you come off as pedantic anyway.
@avclub-00f78cde29bb8610bbff01c5bd6c47b3:disqus Why have you never outright said it?
@avclub-9c6b8d05e85ea47d74f7ee93f13a376b:disqus I just registered to the site and started posting in order to join the discussion of this episode, and seeing posts like yours—having an understandably negative reaction to kind of a lame comment but then apologizing afterward—really make me want to stick around.

"That was a big yes to what followed."
