They would rather have a high volume of reposted content from other sites to allow a greater content of Amazon ads than fewer good stories. It’s safe to say the AV Club, even the diminished version of the last couple years, is dead.

Thanks for responding. But it doesn’t show up on the main feed, which is weird. And this is for last week’s episode. I’m baffled as to what the thinking is here...
So did Josh Alston manage to turn in a Nathan for You review this week or what? Are we ever getting a review of the previous episode? Does the AV Club staff understand Kinja well enough to respond? Any help would be appreciated.
It’s honestly amazing how obstinate you are in refusing to read what I wrote or my multiple explanations to clarify. I beseech you to read this multiple times so there’s at least a shot for you to respond intelligently.
You’re emblematic of everything that is wrong with discourse in this country. Ignoring the actual content of someone’s message, cranking up the outrage machine, and desperately working to flip the situation to another side and force people to see it in binary choices. It’s exactly what Fox News has done for decades,…
So are you actually going to review Nathan for You this week or is Alston going to skip out again?
I’m not whining about her emails, only noting that the author, a Clinton apologist, should at this point know the difference since her supporters had to defend the specifics so often. At no point did I condone anyone else using illegal private equipment to dodge open record laws.
Who are the Trump apologists and “you guys” that you’re referring to?
Uh, what? No, I think you don’t understand the difference between email addresses, domains, and servers.
Jargon spelling makes my skin crawl and I’ve always refused to spell it that way. It’s a matter of preference and it’s useless to use jargon that 99% of people would think is a typo. I’ve been the editor of two newspapers and a magazine, thank you very much.
Listen, I’m totally with you. I oppose Clinton because, as a former journalist, I find open records laws to be one of the greatest defense we have against government overreach. She definitely tried to skirt them with her set up. I oppose Trump because, well, I’m not a racist idiot.
You’d really think Clinton apologists would understand the difference between an email address and email server, but you use the terms interchangeably with no understanding of how important the distinction is.
I understand it seems trivial at the moment, but it’s the equivalent of arguing that Obama isn’t calling something Islamic terrorism. Just distracts from actually getting things fixed. The AV and its nascent politics writers don’t get that.
Once again, the shitty political writing on the AV Club tried to write based on what they see on their Twitter feed. Authorities have also not called this terrorism. We don’t know the murderer’s motivation at all.
It’s literally in the headline, as the AV Club continues, and fails, to cover politics.
So true. I legitimately can’t tell if the review has been posted, maybe backdating to appear closer to air, dropped by the site, or just late. And Alston has a private Twitter account. But at least I can read uninformed and facile political takes with ease.
Doesn’t look like it. Another show’s community crushed by Kinja. Used to enjoy the discussion here!
I figured, I was quoting not to make it appear you made an error, just to emphasize what I was responding to.
Your “defense” is exactly the problem. Because other people are stupid, it’s OK to spread that stupidity? Especially out of straight up ignorance? This is exactly why they shouldn’t cover politics. I fear for anyone who gets their politics news from this site. Like I said, it’s an echo chamber of amateurs. I don’t go…
Yes, I failed to do something that no one asked me to do. But since your access to Google has been apparently cut off, if you’re looking for good, nonpartisan coverage of healthcare, look to nonprofits. I’d recommend ProPublica or the Kaiser Family Foundation.
