I feel like a lot of commentators here are missing the indicators of why this joke was aimed entirely at making fun of himself.

Look at what the wife actually says, guys. She’s worried about his safety, she has a headache, she brings up reasonable refutations of his points, she gently tells him that they just can’t

Nice try, Stephen. But this is clearly a fake article to cover up your very real article about beating women in video games being rape.

It’s funny because they not only fabricated an article to undermine women who write about games, they also made light of rape in the process.

I’m annoyed Ibuki got delayed. But people pissed off because of corporate buffoonery need to take a look at their life. Nobody got slighted here, there were no personal attacks, just a short delay and some poor communication.

You bring up some good points that are definitely worth discussing. The conversation over “leaks” in gaming journalism is an interesting one, and one we’ve discussed a LOT internally. (I sit next to Stephen, and he and I have conversations about this sort of thing ALL the time.)

Does it really matter? Credible or not I think it helps to publicize this sort of stuff — both to expose this ugliness and to push sites like Twitter to improve their harassment policies.

I would love to know exactly when death threats became the thing to do to express disapproval. [sigh]

This is just ridiculous.... I mean it’s a game for fuck’s sake and i love games as much as the next guy/gal, but really? Are these really adult people? How do they even function in society is probably the bigger question.

I think companies need to be penalized for reporting false flags. That is the only way this kind of things are less likely to happen.

“I’m sure From Software is getting to the bottom of it.”

Praise the Butts

A lot of people love the mystery and community activity that comes from a Souls game release; I can understand why they would feel this dampens some of that, and in that context it’s a valid complaint.

If that helps, a lot of young white women die because of tanning beds. I’m eastern european, and here it is absolutely socially unacceptable to show white skin, you *must* be tan. Or cover up. Because pale is ugly.

In many countries, historically, paler skin was associated with ruling classes and wealth because a fair complexion indicated a life not spent toiling outside in the fields. Asian ladies in my town who shield themselves from the sun with umbrellas are not trying to look like white people, they’re trying to avoid a

What’s that Bandai-Namco? You’re pissed because people want to play the game instead of waiting for you to pad your quarterly profit reports? What a shame! /sarcasm

Probably distribution and contracts

At this point, i wish they would just give in and release it. What do they gain by holding it back?
