I’d love to see where you’re seeing that Tesla runs a 20% margin on their cars. As would literally every automaker. The average margin is more like 7-8%....
I’m not going to try and say that the volume of EV sales isn’t part of what’s keeping companies from turning a profit, but it’s by no means a secret that battery cost is the real issue here. Hell that’s easily the #1 reason why Tesla’s stock is valued as highly as it is, they’re actually doing a lot to drive that cost…
1st Gear: I would argue the biggest issue with electric vehicle startups isn’t necessarily the cost of entry, but the lack of potential profits at this time. Let me put it this way, how many years has Tesla turned a net-profit? Quarters? What about Chevy with the Bolt? Nissan with the Leaf?

Solid fuel reactors are costly and kinda ruined the nuclear image for salt based reactors. Thorium salt reactors are making a comeback though.
This is a brilliant move on their part. It’ll allow them to expand their grasp on emerging buyers (read millennials that fucking hate dealing with real people, AKA me) and it will help them draw in a number of buyers that are sick of the standard car buying experience but not ready to succumb to ride sharing platforms…
Westbound in the mornings is bad, Eastbound in the afternoon is an absolute shit show.
