They absolutely can do that if the content is digital. I explicitly remember a lady having problems with her Kindle when she purchased ebooks while vacationing outside the UK. Amazon revoked all her usage rights. Life in the digital age, man.

Seems like people think I’m saying that to defend the pirates. I was pointing out that the penalties are more severe than just “they can’t buy stuff anymore.”
Unfortunately, I’m struggling to find a source, but even Wikipedia notes that Sakurai designed the game to be pick-up-and-play, so that even those who were unfamiliar with action games could complete it.
People are forgetting that they also can’t redownload titles, which means that anything they previously paid for can’t be accessed if they’ve deleted it.
That was intentional. The game was designed for people who don’t play video games.
Jeez, it’s not that bad. Outside of the copy abilities, they play nearly identical. We’re not talkin’ Mario Land, here.
Some folks are just collectors, too. I waited in line for mine but I only paid the retail price. I guess if you’re willing to pay $500, which is redonkulous, it’s more for collection’s sake.
I’m still goin’ for it despite the ranking. The top 10 is enough for me and all the little odds and ends like Ghosts ‘n’ Goblins and Ninja Gaiden are totally worth it.
You’re right, it is. I know it’s silly but it always irritates me when people forget about Kirby’s Dream Land on the Game Boy. One of the first games I ever played and probably the reason I got into Nintendo, video games, and platformers. It’s a fun little thing.
The people complaining about the fixed library wouldn’t buy it anyway. If you’re the kind of person that would rather play thousands of ROMs on your PC for “free,” this thing won’t appeal to you in the slightest.
Thank you!
I wouldn’t say that WWII is treated like it was fun, but the culture surrounding the Second World War is much different than the First. WWI was a disasterous dominoe effect and was much greater in scale and destructiveness than anything that had come before it. It was impersonal, nationalistic, mechanical, and…
The Inklings had different hair styles in that clip, so it’s either an enhanced port or a whole new game!
I love Zach Gage’s games—I still play Sage Solitaire—and I love Chess so I downloaded this before even finishing the article.
If you’re a Nintendo guy, you’d know they ship complete games with high quality DLC. I’ve never felt nickle-and-dimed by them.
I’ve been making it my personal mission to beat every Zelda game I’ve never played before BotW comes out. I’ve had to take breaks because I get burnt out, but it’s been eye-opening so far! I’ve found some new favorites—Majora’s Mask! Minish Cap!—and some major disappointments—Spirit Tracks...
Good lord, people like Spirit Tracks?! If I were to rank them, ST would be the only Zelda that manages to bottom out below Skyward Sword for me. At least some components of SS were enjoyable. The only fun thing about ST was the train, and by the end it was a royal pain in the ass.
I’m glad I’m not the only one underwhelmed by the Oracle games. I finished Seasons recently and was kinda let down. Ages has been better but it’s just the other side of a somewhat boring coin.
Ahem. Wind Waker would like a word with you. That was the last great console Zelda. Majora’s Mask is arguably the better game, but no Zelda since has captured the series’ sense of adventure and freedom as good as WW.
Yup. I distinctly remember the “Touching Is Good” one. Got quite a few laughs in the middle school halls, back before the DS dominated the market.
