Seen plenty of 80s TV/Film with the running-with-tape scenes, and been in TV stations in the 80s so this one really did it for me.

Hardy and Miller together are fine to great to watch. But them with anyone else is pissing me off. It's not snarky, aggressive, stressed but just dickish. Horrible bosses, horrible jerkasses to almost everyone they interact with in the investigation.

I didn't know anyone else remembered it. I think I own it I liked it so much.

Good, so we missed nothing. It cut off, but apparently only like 1 second.

Totally. If we didn't like it even a little less, we'd have bailed as we have to watch a lot online, and CBS refuses to just air the damned thing later in the week to catch up with PVRs.

Yeah, FBI guys don't go to driving school. She had 3-4 perfect setups to PIT the baddie, but no. Don't do that.

Looked like they were mostly copper pipes. And at this level of construction, they do this sticking up stub thing all the time. See more in commercial, but could be in residential. Water heater, etc. But, modern (last 20 years) construction standards also has caps on the ends of pipes and bars so falling doesn't do

Excellent point. Add more drama to the scene, and make them look like scarier bad guys because (something where he has a backup plan and escapes from the building anyway).

Also, can we talk about Abe The Reporter?

It's not so much that the bad guys are conveniently good as that the good guys are SO bad at their jobs. An evil agent is in the Pentagon. We have his ID, his photo. But the cameras are down. We cannot walk around, give his photo to the many gate guards, just lock all the doors (have they not seen No Way Out?!?!) or

Which started promising but weak, and got weaker.

Only one thing not covered in the comments: Safes? I am 99% sure they are just ammo cans. Tall-50s if I had to guess, not seeing a clear shot of them from all the movement, dirt and rust.

The show does pretty well with these procedural bits, and they are some of my favorites really. The phone call a few episodes later is also lovely. I wish they were more consistent, though. Not just to look at, but as a narrative element to show how the monarchy and the government are isolated from the day to day

Totally agree. Disappointed because there was enough good filming and acting that the terrible structure and pacing made it typical lowest common denominator TV.

I actually have some recorded static (someone else did it, but using this procedure). It works a lot better than fake Photoshop static at least.

Yes. Why is that so hard? Fake static is another one that bugs the hell out of me. Get an old TV or VCR. Record what comes out the composite channel. Done.

"Vera gets shot through the hand, which causes a permanent malfunction." It's not super clear for some reason (how hard would it be to pick a better shot there) but the bullet goes through the hand, and into her neck.
