No, that's not what I'm describing at all. Those nuts deserved to be satirized as well, but I'm talking about those that don't believe in male allies, and that includes many of those claiming to appreciate what this guy did.

When you have people saying that we should want the end of masculinity and men just feel entitled to women, no, I don't buy the idea that you appreciate when guys like him do the right thing. Then it's just a matter of someone else fighting for you, the very person that you'd bash right up until the moment he stood up…
You're really going to pretend that the idea that men want to control women isn't a consistent refrain here? Really?
But but but, aren't all men supporters of catcalling who just want to control women?? Clearly this guy just wanted these women all to himself, no way any man would defend women because it's the right thing to do!
What about teh menz!!! oh wait...
Well said. All part of the "well those black dudes must have done SOMETHING to deserve it" mentality.
The totally remorseless woe is me I'm the victim tweets kinda shows he's a dangerous sociopath on top of it.
But wouldn't that not be her real name then?
He's completely at fault for this, but didn't he go to jail for violence like this before?
Way to victim blame jerk.
While I'm sure that many of the sentiments here are genuine, this frankly seems to be an issue that works cross purposes with feminism, or perhaps, as it's often practiced here. Not saying that it's for me to define feminism writ large or what it means for different people, but the focus is naturally and rightly on…
Women displaying ANY degree of empathy is more than welcome.
Yeah, THAT's the whole point. BOTH people have to be okay with the other person.
That reeks of entitlement. "EVERYONE MUST BE ATTRACTED TO ME AND I DON'T HAVE TO DO ANYTHING EARN IT!!" That's the opposite of reason and compassion. And it's not like we're talking about just being attracted to a single race or anything like that. It's about features that you happen to be attracted to.

Yeah, I think it's just trying to be both enticing and respectful to the other person. The sense of entitlement that "I must have oral sex and you'll just have to deal with it!" is almost comical.
Good point
