Even in the age of multi-core CPUs, Active Desktop is a resource hogging abomination. Thumbs down. A gadget/widget/thingamjig would be better.

After years of back pain, I decided to keep the wallet in my front pocket. But no matter how much I reduced the contents, the wallet itself was too awkwardly large.

DoubleKiller is free and worked nicely for me when I had two 2GB+ directories of jpgs to go through looking for duplicates. It can use checksums, filenames, and/or file sizes to determine a match. Works for any type of file.

It's easier just to use Roboform, as that has plugins for Firefox, Mozilla, and IE. You can even sync it to your Palm. You can also use their free GoodSync tool to do a real sync (not export/import juggling) to a USB keyfob or even a TrueCrypt drive on the network.
