There is no second wave.  We never got out of the first wave.  This is just the first wave reasserting itself

Chrysler: (eating paste, accidentally sells a shitload of RAM trucks, Jeeps and 12-year-old sedans)

Ford: Hey, we’re churning out trucks and SUVs and even ventilators!
Where’s our headline?

There seems to be a HUGE disconnect between these so-called “comeback”stories and reality. The reality is that we are barely getting into the eye of the storm of the virus. It has not gone away. Numbers are rising. The 2nd wave is probably going to be a lot worse. And somehow we are in comeback mode? None of that adds

Infiniti stonks 📉

The last car that literally made my jaw drop is the Lexus LC 500.  It’s low and wide and has so much presence.  The one place where the spindle grille works...so beautiful.

The Cummins five-nine straight six. Timing GEARS, mechanical fuel injection, million mile bullet proof motor that could easily be pushed to 1,000+ horse power and torque numbers, on a budget. Jalop in fact did a write-up on it a while back.

Mazda 13B

Now playing

Audi Inline-5 turbo. Good enough to conquer WRC, Pikes Peak, IMSA, and Trans-Am in just one decade.

Honda’s B16B, B18C, F20C, K20A

Can I just drive a sweet ass car around laguna seca?

Who else is looking forward to performing precision braking around a bunch of cones for hours before you can race anything worthwhile?

Aww man. :/ Ok, nuke the rest from space then, don’t care.

Hence, the reduced price cap. And the price cap on spares.

Kill the most popular class in endurance racing! Nobody wants to watch that shit!

For the most part, automotive designers are searching for something new and ‘fresh’ that they haven’t seen before.

possibly it is like some of the Jalop writers, the engineers designing things don’t really like or actually drive cars. Basing the cars off of the current crop of poorly drawn cartoons or perhaps video games is not what the majority of the world likes I think.

There has got to be a design school somewhere that is unleashing visually impaired graduates upon a few select car companies.  Must be a joke of some sort.

The Bangle era cars sold very, very well, and BMW cares more about sales than internet comments. So BMW likely wouldn’t take the lesson from it that everyone here wants.
