I don’t think they should be untangling, deciphering, and interpreting. That isn’t news, but commentary. Report facts. Try and get all the pertinent ones. If you are going be adding commentary, make your biases known and/or switch to the opinion pages.

When there was news for one hour a night, there wasn’t as much room for commentary. Now commentary is merged with the news.

I think you are an outlier. I also don’t remember anyone referring to it as either the NES or Ness back in the day. It seems like in the late 80's and up until SNES was released most people just called it Nintendo. I honestly don’t remember many people referring to them as NES/Super NES/SNES until after the year 2000.

I think we probably overestimate how much the general public cares about stuff like this. 90% of the audience for Marvel movies doesn’t care if Scarlett Johansson is working with Woody Allen or gets cast as a trans character.

Why shouldn’t she be playing a trans man? If the man didn’t have any medical treatments, then he would look identical to a woman. Actors inherently play people with identities other than theirs, should they be forced to choose from the roughly zero trans male Hollywood stars?

It isn’t any more ridiculous than an African king of a secret, technologically advanced nation, who is imbued with super powers from local plant, then puts on a suit made of a non-existent indestructible metal, and goes out to fight terrorists and super villains.

What on earth was the point of this article? The entire internet is full of people writing articles and a bunch of other people shouting in agreement right below them. It’s happening in this comment section too!
