I don’t understand what your comment about grief has to do with the assumption that a grieving person is going to make a ‘great grieving album’ because their music was all slow n stuff anyway. I just find that level of assumption beyond wild, sociopathic even.

The Judge didn’t sentence her...she agreed to this.  Your comments just indicate that you don’t understand how the criminal justice system works.  If she enters a plea of guilty in exchange for probation...the Judge can’t do any better than that outcome.

There’s actually a pretty solid documentary called Raising Kratos. At its base, its about the development challenges of making God of War (2018), but also going into great detail about the Design lead for all GoW games, Cory Barlog, wanting to put his own personal growth and maturing into the game. Very mild spoilers,

I once heard a really good talk at UC Berekly in 2004/5 by a Black woman who discussed the concept of “buying into whiteness.” She specifically used the Irish as an example because once upon a time they weren’t considered white. But post-Civil War there was obviously a big concern about the Black vote so regular White

I agree with you on children not being fully developed and shouldn’t be held to adult standards.

As someone with a family member with schizophrenia, this hits so close to (literal)  home. The agony of loving someone deeply while also being afraid for your own safety and afraid of/for their safety and well-being is a cluster F***. Most people I know who have lost someone like this balance the guilt of feeling relie

I will deeply miss Mimi Parker’s art. She had the most beautiful voice and I owe a lot to Low, which have seen me through some shit with their music.

Mental illness is an internal torture that people cannot imagine. You are literally trapped inside your brain, and sometimes there is not a medicine in the world that can help you.

Sparhawk’s artistic response to his wife and bandmate’s death will be an absolute doozy' Wtf?? Someone is dead, Rich.

In Dirt Bag. Really?  They put Ali’s passing here also, so there you go.  Stay classy, Jez.

Iowa law requires the payment as a penalty for being convicted on murder charges... there was no leeway for the Judge in this case, it’s an automatic part of the sentencing.

Because the guy was asleep so the basic self defense laws don’t cover her actions. A number of other states have laws that take victims trauma into account, I don’t think this one did at least at that time. Federal law doesn’t tend to supersede state law in a way that would help her (assuming there weren’t any trial

Wild that I couldn’t make out a single distinct feature of this person. It’s like I couldn’t even tell it was them if they where to knock on my door as soon as I post this. That’s crazy.

So what happened to her was horrible. But in the end she will likely get caught, and then face the original 20 years. The old way she had probation and the extra money from the gofundme to rebuild some sort of life.

A message to the public: If you see this fugitive, no you didn’t.

Man, I must’ve set my clock back too far because I woke up in 1999.

TIL Whose Line was still on the air.

Maybe if they had a talking cat too, they would have.

All that and you still seem miserable. That sucks. Hope things get better!

I was at The Original Pancake House for breakfast the other day, and when the server handed me my bill, it had the option to scan a QR code and pay online. It was lovely. No one hovering, no waiting for her to go swipe it and come back, no standing in line at the register (also still an option). I just paid online
