I was flipping between CNN and CBC tonight and ended up landing on CBC because I was transfixed by their panel. They did not hold back at all. I will watch anything that features Danielle Moodie-Mills, forever. She was so passionate and articulate, but also heartbreakingly defeated.

As a white male with a good amount of privilege, I voted based on what’s at stake for the rest of you, too. How people can’t wrap their heads around that astounds me. There was a tweet I saw, can’t remember where, that went something like:

I hope you contacted the office of Rev. Barber, president of the North Carolina NAACP. There is a lot of bad news in NC, but the NC branch of the NAACP has built an amazing coalition with LGBT Rights groups, Trans-rights activists, the Raging Grannies, Jews for Justice and several other groups down here.

I’m a native Tennessean. I was represented by a Democrat in Congress until the Tea Party took over in 2010. People I’ve known forever have shocked me with their hate and ugliness. I don’t recognize the town I grew up in anymore.
