They kinda are though, cause when you click that terms and agreement box or button (Regardless of whether you read it or not) you agreed that you understand and accept that they can do that.

That’s literally not how it works with any type of media. You own a license to use the media. You didn’t buy the game you bought the license to play the game. In order to actually buy the game in the way you think you own it, it would cost at the very least a couple grand (Price varying on title).

I think it ruins the game experience, to use it on the first time through.

Meh, maybe on other playthroughs but I feel it is scrubbish to use one on the first playthrough.
