The DCAU version of Kara was introduced in Superman: TAS, and even showed up in BTAS, and she was a character on Smallville, and let's not forget Super Best Friends Forever. Really it's just been the New Adventures of Superman that left Kara out, other than that she's been well-represented in the last twenty plus

Similar, but the Mole'lady arc was different. Doreen showed Mole Man basic human kindness and he confused that for romantic affection and pitched a fit when she turned him down. Mxyzptlk just showed and said love me. It actually felt very similar to the Vartox storyline in the Palmiotti/Gray/Palmer Powergirl run

I get acknowledging how niche comic book characters are to the general public's conciousness, but that's overcorrecting a little. Supergirl's not only had her own movie, but has appeared in almost every television adaptation of Superman. Also she's been a near continuous lead of her own comic since 2005, there

Now it would've been stronger if that was the only reason Kara lied to Mon-El, and not that silly "I had to lie to you in order to make sure you didn't try to follow me" or whatever it was. That was silly and deserving of scorn.

I thought it was a nice move by Adler and Kreisberg to let Sterling Gates co-write last night's episode. He wrote a lot of the pre-New52 Supergirl as well as the very good tie-in series Adventures of Supergirl that I wish DC would make more of.

Like she said in the episode, Kara felt she had to lie to Mon-El because when dealing with an omnipotent imp from the firth dimension, how can you ever be sure he's not listening in?

My first thought when Lillian found the metal cube in Lex's vault was Mother Box. Which would be an ambitious direction for the show to take

And the video showing Lena removing the synthetic kryptonite. And did anyone ask why L Corp had synthetic kryptonite?

It would've been useful if the writing for Kara's defense of Lena hadn't sounded so flailing. "she's not bad because she's my friend, so there."

Kier-ah

So Lex is definitely in jail for stealing forty cakes then?

I was with James for most of those arguments, if for no other reason than we've seen her with James a lot more than with Lena. It makes her friendship with him feel like the stronger one, and the one with her more of a "told not shown" thing.

Did they make any mention of the broken table in James' office from the Vibe/Gypsy fight last week on Flash?

Oh sure, I didn't mean it's distracting that Winn isn't wearing tactilnecks, but that everyone else in the DEO is walking around strapped. Although given the number of alien attacks at both DEO headquarters I guess it makes sense.

Winn is the only member of the DEO who does not wear tactical gear and a handgun 24/7. It has always been a little distracting.

I choose to believe that shirt was just what Benoist showed up to work wearing and they just went with it.

I really liked the screw the budget excess of the effects in the episode. Having Kara fly around shooting heat vision at a White Martian can not be cheap.

it's an absolute shame Wild Turkey discontinued the 101 version of their Rye. That was the good stuff.

In the most recentish version of the continuity Dinah Drake is the sole Black Canary, Lance is her married name. Though Rebirth might have fiddled with that.
