@LTMP: We only do it in a private area if the person requests it. 99% of the time the guys have no problem with you doing it right out in the open.

@thetagon: Hulu blocked that method pretty quick

@thetagon: No it doesn't. I wish it did, but the only way I could get it to work on my Froyo Droid was to download a modded Flash apk from XDA-Devs. Of course, it would be nice if Hulu would just release a player for Android like they're going to with the iPhone, but I'll cut them some slack until Hulu Plus actually

@Omega13: Backed DVDs over what? The only competing standard I remember was Divx, which was mainly pushed by Circuit City and would have died no matter what

Good to see that the press's uncanny ability to capture unflattering pictures of Republicans didn't start with George W. Bush.

@jamjen: I wish Pete would go back to releasing Nandroid backups as well as update.zip files. I always used his Nandroids when he was doing 2.0.1 based ROMs.

@jamjen: I've been running the BB Froyo Experimental ROMs since Pete released them, and finally moved to 0.2.1 the other day (planned on waiting for the next release, but had to SBF back to 2.0.1 because of my own stupidity and decided to take the plunge). I've had none of the problems some others have reported and

@super-rad: Eh, I've had my Droid since the day after launch and I have only a few very subtle scratches that you can see only when tilting it at the exact right angle.

Sorry, but Bugless Beast is the way to go. I've been using it since I rooted and it's the only ROM I've ever needed. BB 0.1 Froyo build is rock-solid and is amazing on battery life. Plus you get Flash, which is nice. Using the P3 1 Ghz LV kernel right now and I haven't had any issues. His 1.1 version based on Eclair

@TheFu: For those of us who don't work for the CIA, however, the answer can be a little more nuanced.

@archercc: Maybe I'm just seeing things, but the screen does look taller and narrower to me. Which works for me. I'd much prefer a phone that has an aspect ratio close to 16:9. Makes videos much easier to convert and watch

@TheWormInYourApple: I think you're right, to an extent. Up until the last 8 months or so, it was by far the best smartphone out there. A lot of ground has been made up by Android since then.

@TheWormInYourApple: So basically people hop on the bandwagon. I know it's human nature, but it's also kinda sad.

@AdamKaoru: It would be revolutionary if they had increased the screen size. They're still using the same size screen as the first iPhone while others are making very good phones with larger ones. I'm sure the screen looks pretty damn nice, but it's just too small considering today's market.

@meatbag_pussrocket: I agree with you. But you and I aren't necessarily the average consumer.

@Garion: Look at it this way: the battery life Apple quoted is the best you're ever going to do. For Android, on the other hand, there are plenty of devs out there making custom ROMs that greatly increase battery life (at least for the Droid).

@meatbag_pussrocket: Apple has the biggest app store and the most name recognition. In addition, it's easy to get your media onto it, assuming you get it through iTunes. That alone makes it better for "most people." And I say that having bought a Droid the day after launch. I love my phone, but I know Android isn't

The only thing I really want out of WMP are keyboard shortcuts to jump ahead or back in set intervals. I've never found a way to do this, although to be honest I've never really tried too hard.

@jfj: No, they're in cahoots with every electronics company that sells car adapters, including ones that would draw more than a USB port can provide. I don't even think the DC outlet in my CRV will take a cigarette lighter.
