One could argue that maintaining an incompetent staff is laziness as well though.

it isn’t laziness. I would say “laziness” is never a reason that a game is poorly ported, buggy, missing features etc. Even mediocre video game devs are making less money and working harder than they would be in a non-game developer role.

It’s not like the game isn’t a hot mess on other platforms. It’s just that the hot mess was even more of a hot mess because they failed in porting it correctly on top of the hot mess that WWE wrestling games normally are.
