Thank you for caring about the it's/its problem in the text message. I wasn't sure if it was an actual mistake, or if it was a deliberate choice that was supposed to show that the texters were lousy grammarians (and maybe the mistake could have been a clue that it wasn't Mindy at the wheel?). I hope it was the latter.

I thought he said weirdest day, not greatest.

Yes, I realize that, fellow genius, but they dealt with recovering alcoholics so at least they treated the topic somewhat seriously much of the time. I just feel like there's been a lot of irresponsible, juvenile binge drinking on the sitcom circuit lately.

Just to make us all feel more comfortable, they did follow the traditional sitcom pattern of large spouse, slim spouse (which in the hetero couples was of course fat husband, skinny wife, except in EL Raymond where the contrast was in height rather than weight).

OK, it's the Interweb soI can't tell if you're being sarcastic. Also can't remember whether Cheers treated drunks as routinely hilarious to help me interpret your comment.

I hope Jay wasn't driving after his six scotches and the beer at the taco truck. They sure do drink a lot and play it for laughs on the television these days (see New Girl and The Mindy Show for recent examples).

I'm worried that Puck carving "quarterback" into the tree trunk will actually kill that little tree.
This is why I could never work in television.

I am one of those viewers who enjoyed the first season or so and then lost interest when Glee strayed too far from its original attitude. But I watched this to see what they would do with it. Random thoughts:
1. Why so much Santana? Felt like she was the centerpiece of the story.
2. I find it unlikely that a mother

Where in/near Manhattan is there a quarry?

For me, this episode was just a collection of implausibilities. Specifically these:
1. Casey goes from being a thoughtful minister to a petulant adolescent. If they need to get rid of him, have him stay in Haiti. I'd buy that.
2. Mindy's hair has grown too fast.
3. The new doctor just hangs around in a hospital waiting

Glad they let Mitch and Cam put the Snippy McBickersons dynamics on hold for a moment, even if they didn't let them kiss. I also liked that Cam didn't mince about on the football field as he is wont to do. All business.

Any one else wonder why Manny needed his birth certificate, other than to force that scene at the courthouse? Isn't a passport usually all that's required, even for an unaccompanied minor?

Totally. Also, especially coming right off of New Girl, which last night played drunkenness for laughs, I feel like the alcohol-leads-to-comedy trope was way out of control. The number of shot glasses on that table would have spelled alcohol poisoning for at least one of them, if not both. Maybe they were going for

Did she really ditch the Volvo wagon in Mexico?

I am pretty sure they used two different babies, by the way. The smiley one Ryan came in with was not the same as the big-eyed baby he handed off to Kelly's boyfriend. Were they just trying to stay on the right side of child labor laws, or (my fervent hope) to give cameos to babies belonging to Office cast or crew?

You know, I thought afterward that that would have a been a scene in which they could have included a nonwhite member of society. One of those dads could have been African-American, or Asian. Same thing at the gymnastics meet. For a show that has tried to be inclusive, in the end it doesn't try all that hard.

Where was the baby while Gloria, Jay and Manny were out breaking into houses? And why did they go into Mitch and Cam's house when the backpack was supposed to be in the car?

Did no one but hubby and me notice the reference to Zooey as Jovie in Elf? I came here looking for confirmation so we know we didn't imagine it. When Nick was trying to ask Jess out and fumbling, and she said "do you want to eat food" or whatever the exact line was—it was the same as when Will F. aka Elf asked her out
