I haven’t seen any of these movies.  How many are genuinely top 5 worst movies/performances and how many are just the Razzies nominating mediocre movies?

Here’s some good news: Rahaf Mohammed al-Qunun, who had barricaded herself in her hotel room in Bangkok in order to avoid being sent back to Saudi Arabia, where both her family and the government want to kill her, has been granted asylum in Canada.  She is currently flying to Toronto via Seoul. 

She is apparently currently on a KAL flight from Bangkok to Seoul, where she will board a connecting flight to Toronto.

The Canadian government has confirmed that it has granted Rahaf asylum.

Indeed, though it sounds like she may be OK (at least in terms of not being murdered by her family or the Saudi government) as it’s being reported that Canada will offer her asylum if Australia doesn’t.

I may be wrong, but I think I also read that she’s renounced Islam.  If that’s the case, it’s not just her family she would have to fear as Saudi Arabia executes Muslims for apostasy.

This is a status that Pittsburgh is proud of, bragging about and displaying it the way a parent might share their kid’s report card in a text thread. It’s pretty funny.  She’s a freshman in Congress, I’m Canadian.  There really isn’t any reason why I should be aware she even exists, but I see a picture of her and I know exactly who it is, because Republicans and conservative media won’t stop giving her free advertising.

Japan doesn’t have the fastest naturalization in the world. Lots of other countries also allow naturalization in five years. In Australia it’s 4. In Canada it’s 3. And unlike Japan, Canada and Australia actually encourage immigrants to come.

The government here in Canada is facing the same problem. GDLS Canada has a $15 billion contract to supply the Saudis with armoured vehicles and it’s obvious now that the government is looking for a way to cancel the contract (without getting nailed with financial penalties) while also not wanting to incur thousands…

Yeah, my best friend’s father lived under Japanese occupation for most of the first decade or so of his life and as a result didn’t have a very high opinion of Japanese people, but has mellowed out quite a bit in his old age.
