Yes, please! I wrote in a comment above that some of J.A. Bayona’s directing peers on Penny Dreadful would also be awesome like Dearbhla Walsh (she has also directed some great episodes for Fargo’s third season).

Order of introduction. Its by far the most popular so people have the most familiarity with it.  Its kinda like Dragon Ball Z and Dragon Ball. Despite Dragon Ball being the original Dragon Ball Z will always be many peoples starting point.

The Orphanage is incredible too

Just check one of the 85 reviews/recaps/articles they drop here today. Multiple evil souls in the comments there will be happy to accommodate you, probably by episode 1, but definitely a few times by the 4th.

I was with you until that last sentence.

I was with you until that last sentence.

First two episodes of Penny Dreadful were magical. Last two, most disappointing ending until GOT.

I’m drunk so maybe this isn’t the place but can we get some female directors on this shit

Ya, people never really understand that Lord of the Rings is the ending to the mythos.

Because The Lord of the Rings is an epilogue to an insanely long and kind of awesome story that involves armies of Balrogs, gigantic Dragons that have wingspans larger then mountains, gods, angels (well LotR has Angels too), and enough political intrigue and backstabbing to interest any executive who wants to run this

So are his opening two episodes of Penny Dreadful, which arguably mastered the tone that the rest of the series strove to maintain.

It’s not really a prequel.  JRR started writing the Silmarillion before LOTR.

Because Bezos is not sated! Line up and offer your teats for his immaculate replenishing!

Because the Elves left Earth and took all the magic with them. A sequel would just be a bunch of filthy peasants farming.

I’m fine with this, and regardless, it’s only two episodes anyway.

In fairness, Fallen Kingdom was well-directed and had a lot of memorable imagery. It wasn’t Bayona’s fault that the script was pants-on-head stupid.

da da deedee dah dah MY BAYONA

No need to be catty about it.

A Monster Calls is a stunning movie.
