My reasoning for hating this is the hubris. Some fan, and I don’t care how much of a fan they are, has decided to call it a True Director Cut. Implicitly stating that they know better than the Director of the game.

If I were a betting man, I’d wager a good part of it is still irritation of the Warriors of the Wind cut that came out in the late 80's (early 90's?). The cut took about 30 minutes of the movie out to make it more “kid friendly” and cut out a lot of the long mood setting shots.
