Introducing average speed cameras would help, as they’re more effective at keeping speeds down.
The left lane is for passing thing is a bit of a red herring. The passing lane stuff is irritating but far less relevant in terms of collisions and deaths, especially when there are fewer cars on the road.

Of course they don’t suggest doing the one thing that would actually help:

H/T to Chip Foose for trying to make this car palatable even back then.

Te each his own, but I think they’re just nasty useless cars.

My dad had a 1963 T-bird hardtop parked in the yard my whole childhood, I actually remember him taking us for a drive in it the day he parked it, I was probably 7 or 8 years old. That was a nice looking car. This one is as bad a copy of the original as the new Blazer is of it’s predecessor.

Or, instead of lowering speed limits and passing rules that will drive us all nuts, we can actually enforce legislation that exists in many states saying the left lane is for passing.

Didn’t even read it. ND. I’ve always hated these abominations.

Hats off to anyone who rides a motorcycle. In the Bay most people try to scoot over a bit to give a little extra room.

Not me, but my dad.

This happens far too often online as well. It’s a letdown when you filter for Manual Transmission and you find a promising car, only to look at the pictures of the interior and see PRND, and then you rage-close the ad.

My boss, his boss, and the CEO of a company we were acquiring, were all on that plane. Their deaths changed the course of our company and my career. These men were my friends as well as coworkers and they are still missed.

I want to commend you on describing the occupants of the second vehicle as innocent bystanders (even though they were not standing by) and not describing the people in the crowd as innocent bystanders. I don’t wish harm on anyone, but they weren’t innocent bystanders, they were idiots there to participate and take in

Therefore, the two-star front-passenger safety rating only applies to the vehicles produced at the Kyushu plant prior to January 28"

Hey, you leave Wile E. Coyote out of this.

And a GREAT looking solar roof looks like this:

Ah you think solar is your ally? You merely adopted the sunlight. I was born in it, molded by it. I didn’t see darkness until I was already a man, by then it was nothing to me but inefficient!

The “meeting in the middle” metaphor would have been more accurate if it was an ad about Springsteen being pulled over for a DUI, running towards the cop’s car, reaching for the cops gun, firing at the cop, and then jumping back and being like “can we just meet in the middle?” when backup showed up.

Turns out, “The Middle” is actually the part of the road Springsteen was driving on.
