Well, it used to be that way. People didn’t drive safer, they just died a hell of a lot more.

What is it not good at? It was built to carry up to 5 people in style and comfort and it seems like it succeeds just fine.

My aunt had a Mk1 Scénic 1.6e. Now I didn’t particularly like the car very much (I used to refer to the throttle as noise switch, pressing it would make everything louder but really weren’t going anywhere in a hurry in it), but what it was extremely comfortable, agreeable and nice to be in, in that way only French

2022 Civic Sport Touring: $30,415 for a manual, 180hp, FWD and some goodies.

Yes, it is a cool car in a classic movie, but underrated? The movie made the car so popular that it was renamed for the movie.

The Alfa from “The Graduate.”

That passenger seat cubby in the Dart is great. I would love that + a fold-flat passenger seat to use as a desk, food platform, or to carry long cargo. Under-seat sliding trays are another minivan kind of feature I wish more cars had.

Exactly, the last spot you want to be during a car crash is in the car! I drive with the windows down and unbelted. If there is a crash, I use my catlike reflexes to jump out the window to safety. If I had to undo a seatbelt, I wouldn’t make it out in time.

If you don’t wear a seatbelt, it is not just you you affect. Seeing your mangled remains wrecks the mental health of witness, road crews, first responders, and a lot of other folks in and around the various industries who have to deal with car wrecks and keeping roads clear. It wrecks your family, not just mentally,

Thank you. Cosign. My first thought is always, “asshole” (mostly environmentally driven). Or because I’ve had a few tailgate me and that grill seems annoyingly made to intimidate in that instance. Then “small dick.” Or I could be more polite and say “compensatory.”

I have nothing to contribute here, but I will chip in to express my undying vitriol towards trucks as a primary means of transportation.

Sigh.  Still no manual option.  Pass.

I’ll be patiently waiting in the comments for someone to come say how this EV won’t work for them because their commute is 600 miles each way in the snow towing a 12,000lb trailer.

A huge improvement over the previous tech: black bristles.

I think the gear selection numbers/letters were backlit, so, not just a sticker.  And the telescoping/sliding plastic on fore/aft of the shifter is pretty rad.  Classic 90s engineering right thur.

au contraire

My go-to move for the past few years has been to get oil from Tractor Supply Co. Oh yeah, that’s right — I have found that the least expensive way to procure motor oil locally is to head to a store that’s known for selling chickens, tractor parts, cowboy hats, and trailer axles.

You can be pro-union and anti-UAW. Even other unions don’t like them.

Yeah, and the pure as the driven snow UAW just sat idly by, not spending a single dime to try to unionize these shops, all while the poor, dumb, stupid workers didn’t know what to do when it came time to vote because they’re too dumb and stupid so they just threw up their arms and voted no.
