The A-10 was specifically designed with intrinsic “countermeasures” against ground fire. The pilot’s “tub” of armor, vertical stabilizers that obscure the engines, good low speed maneuverability, etc.
It’s not like the A-10 has never been shot down before. We lost like six of them in Desert Storm, and a lot more have been shot to hell since.
They don’t even need to build more of them, we already have 300 of them, and most have been highly upgraded.
I think the real problem with the A-10 is that the fleet is paid for, and therefore is no longer a large-bandwidth conduit for money to flow to defense contractors. No more A-10s means more F-35s which means more more MORE money for...Lockheed!
Just build more A-10s. Did they lose the engineering drawings or something? It’s not like there is anything better for its role anywhere. Just update what needs updating and leave the rest alone. retool as required. It would be cheap as far military plane development projects go. Oh wait, that’s why they aren’t doing…
Amazing the way the way he just slides along on his hands and knees. Looks like he’s on ice. That safety gear is doing its job.
Thanks man! No they did not brain wash me!
A sudden extended absence followed by a non-disparaging article about the F-35? What did those Lockheed thugs do to you?
Yeah, must be horrible to have a POTUS that doesnt send you and your buddies to war on a whim, right?
A diesel Cadillac limo built on a truck frame is definitely more ‘Murican than a stretched Excursion.
“Affordable.” 45k?!
Seen many in person, and still think they look cool.
The news wasn’t really about the news, it was more a chance for the three to riff on each other and be funny, and it did a good job of reinforcing the feeling that the boys truly did get along fantastically. When you look at them next to the American crew it makes sense. I don’t think Rutledge, Ferrara and Foust hate…
Meh, a durango of this vintage goes for around 1500 dollars retail around here. Less if its damaged in any way (interior removed for auction after a crime, etc.) This one has OBVIOUS fender well rust. Probably a northern car with an already shot set of control arms, rotted balljoints, worn suspension, and barely…
No, you don’t. New team, started from scratch and not some sort of legacy team passed from billionaire to billionaire, earns points in its debut race. That’s impressive regardless of country of origin. That it is an American team means that we’re just going to be obnoxious about it, because we have a huge chip on our…
The new one makes the old one looks dated although the headlights look better in the old Sonic for sure.
While I lament the loss of the round headlights, I like it! Especially the new rear end. The lower bumper actually has some shape to it now.
Now about that 2.0 turbo Sonic SS...........
