You are a nice person.

I’m so in love with Goodwill I can’t even tell you. It would just be bragging. Suffice to say I’ve gotten things worth triple digits for single digits. My wardrobe is full of beautiful quality garments living a life of repurpose and love.

I get a buttload of J. Crew at my Goodwill. I'm wearing a $3 top as I type this. Got a pair of wool City Fit trousers for $5.

Serious question: Do you ever have enjoyable spontaneous sex, or do you both shower before any contact? I'm not even close to being a germophobe and it'll occur to me that things aren't perfectly clean but I shrug it off because I'll eat food off the floor, so... But I really wonder how people with real germ issues

I know I’m a grownup now, because the stories of physical assault and destruction of property in retaliation for infidelity are horrifying to me. Who the fuck thinks it’s funny to break a bottle over someone’s head because they’re sharing a meal with someone else?

Most excellent.

I know a 10-year old named Barbara. I congratulated her mother on finding a name that no one else her age would have. All the many Barbara's I know are 65+

A few months ago, we received a panicked call from our neighbor. Apparently our gerbils had gotten loose and one had found its way into her apartment. Her cats were interested enough to watch it scurry but made no effort to chase it or eat it.

My kids see what the school lunch is and think it's gross. I spend an inordinate amount of time packing their lunches and would kind of like it if they ate the school lunch. It'd be cheaper. If they're getting a good breakfast and dinner at home, lunch isn't a dealbreaker.

But even if they teach "good" nutrition, it doesn't jibe with what we know. For instance, the USDA "good" breakfast is: fortified puffed rice cereal with skim milk, a piece of toast and a glass of orange juice. The glycemic load of that "meal" would send anyone into a sugar rush and crash! Eggs and whole milk are

Our school has a free breakfast for any kids who want it. There is skim chocolate milk and skim regular. If anyone cares to look, you can see that skim milk has a buttload of sugar, and whole milk has less. Then there is the cereal... I don't recall seeing any "sugar" cereal, but I don't think Rice Krispies are all

The USDA food pyramid makes me STABBY.

It is SO HARD, keep doing what you know is best. Somehow, picky kids manage to grow and thrive, despite seeming to live on air.

My nephew is picky as fuck and milk is the only protein he gets.

Eh, they really don't taste the same anymore. I buy them occasionally for my kids (*gasp*) and I find them disappointing. I'd rather eat something else. Same thing goes for Twinkies.

Our public school has peanut-free tables in the cafeteria, but kids are allowed to bring peanut butter sandwiches. Which is a godsend, because we make a lot of them.

I'm thinking there's a little bit of middle ground, here, too.

Yes, it would be. Sometimes I get a little carb-fascist with my kids and then I remember that they're very active and still growing, and they burn that shit up like nobody's business. So THEY are allowed to have ravioli AND garlic bread. But not me...

Huh. good question. The "Academy" part makes me think it's a charter school, but that's just wild speculation.

Just for funsies, I'm going to post some vintage gossip from a site that was last updated in 2004. It's just gossip, but some of it has turned out to be true, and it's just fun:
