Semi-related: I live in an area with lots of charity shops. They have some nerve, charging what they do. During a really broke period in my life, I went in search of a winter coat. There was nothing under $75, and we are talking like Old Navy wool/poly blend pea coats.

It's not nice to leave clothing lying about, but if someone leaves clothing for the less fortunate and it doesn't make it into the bin, it probably DID go to someone less fortunate. You'd have to be hard up to dig around used clothing in a parking lot. I don't begrudge the folks who helped themselves.

It must have taken some doing to get the film/photography permits. And I bet they had to make some concessions. I may have to watch the show to see where they were allowed to film out there.

You're implying that they're doing something worthless. They're hired by the production company to film a show. Sure, they're not curing cancer, but it's not like they're clubbing baby seals.

The use of "paparazzi" implies that freelance photographers are flocking these people in the hopes of getting photos to sell to media outlets.
