Oh I agree it’s manipulative and am generally against large public proposals for that reason. But the OP was calling hypocrisy using the response to the Olympic proposal which was a different beast. I believe their point would have been better served using a different example.

The Olympic medalist was being praised for her individual accomplishment in a possibly once in a lifetime moment. The Beyoncé dancer was basically at her job. An awesome job that I’m sure she worked her ass of to get but it was probably just another show to her until then.
