I don’t know if I can plug something, but what you’re talking about is exactly what I’ve done in a podcast for 10 years for public domain films, so giving it a shot: http://moviesfortheblind.com/. AD on Netflix was the result of years of work by accessibility advocates and Netflix finally understanding the additional

July 30 would have been a Sunday, so I’m guessing the safe held petty cash, Sunday’s unaudited drawers, and Saturday’s deposit. Might have even held Friday’s, as well, if the store handles its own bank runs and didn’t have the manpower to make a deposit early Saturday.

I’m guessing older brother talked him into it because he was jealous at little brother’s success and opportunity.

I’m guessing a term in prison of 7-11 years...

Not ironically, I think the first show they added AD to was Daredevil. (AD was initially developed for people with vision issues, but, like many accessibility options, AD is useful for sighted people, too!) Disney adds AD to many of its movies including reissues of Star Wars, etc., I think.

Wawa usually does a pretty solid business, and if it’s in a poorer area I could see a lot of cash at the end of the night being reasonable I guess, but I’m guessing it has something to do with his brother being the manager. Might have been holding some back from the pickup for a few days.

No, they sell lottery tickets but it is automated machines that you pay directly. Wawa doesn’t touch that cash.

Cashier: Are you guys gonna rob the store?

They just wrapped up Gobbler season.

Netflix also just keeps playing the movies/shows if you lock your screen and then hit play via mic or lockscreen. My soundtrack is ALWAYS Parks and Rec. Never gets old.

OH SHIT THAT’S MY WAWA

Things won’t be easier for him when he gets to central PA. He is going to be in deep Sheetz.

Um.. Flip the light switch? Must be something wrong with your Echo if you need to restart it often. Mine has been plugged in for over 6 months with no issues.

Smartbulbs should be the last resort for when you can’t do a smart switch - as I have those in other parts of my home where the situation worked better for those. With a smart switch the original problem does come back where the Dot would lose power, though. I guess you could have an electrician change that to an

If you’re using smart bulbs, you kind of have to avoid using your lightswitches again. As when you use the switch, you lose the remote control part to turn the bulbs on. It’s a learning curve, but most of the family now knows not to use the switch for this.

Oh wow, thanks guys! I’m flattered that my post has been highlighted like this - but really thought it would help out others who wanted to take a little extra effort for a nice, clean setup rather than the Dot just taking up space on a counter.

I haven’t needed to, so I don’t know, but can it not be reset over wifi? You can do that with a Chromecast, so it doesn’t seem like a stretch.

Better yet, just design the thing to screw directly into an A19 bulb socket.

Ecobee contacted me recently to ask if I would help test an Echo light switch. Apparently it’s a smart switch with a built in microphone and full Alexa capabilities. They are considering my application right now (I hope I get selected!) but it would be a similar streamlined integration if you’re trying to get a smart

Ecobee has a thermostat that doubles as an Alexa device. Not just compatible, but an actual full-function Echo built into it. I think that’s where this is all going. Standalone devices like this will only be around for a couple more years, IMO. They’ll just bake the device into things you’re already buying like a
