Yep. I wonder if and when Lucifer will realize that.

OK, let me take this to the lext level: do we think God knew that Dan would sleep with Charlotte, i.e. his wife? What if Lucifer's Douche-related taunts were a pre-emptive punishment sent by God?

As another agnostic, I feel that there's a difference between God knowing everything and orchestrating(/predetermining) everything. Infallibility doesn't come into play for me, I prefer to focus on time as a concept, and how "God" would perceive it all at once. I've always believed we do have free will, God just knows

My thoughts exactly. Lucifer seemingly has no way of truly defying his father, which I imagine is part of his struggle. I guess he's irrationally thinking he needs to distance himself from Chloe, perhaps because it might be too painful for him to be near her right now, but still, he has to know God must have predicted

Oh and another thing: who's to say that God's plan didn't include all this? That it wasn't just "Lucifer meets Miracle Baby Chloe and they fall in love" but also "and then Lucifer finds out the truth and breaks her heart along with his own heart and then he leaves and then blah blah blah"?

Excellent episode, and excellent analysis. I almost have nothing to add.

Tim DeKay was spectacular. That scene with Chloe, right before he took his own life, it was so well acted. That's what "saved" the case aspect of the episode, turning it from a Saw-inspired "fun" romp into a story about a real person. I can't wait to see him acting opposite Tom Ellis, we didn't really get a chance to

I feel the same way about Charlotte/Mom. It's a good thing Tricia Helfer is playing the role. At least she brings some fun to it, even when the character itself is on the verge of becoming frustrating.

I just realized. When Lucifer said "this is real, isn't it?" Chloe nodded yes. But what he was asking was, "are you really not brainwashed or manipulated in some way?" and what she was answering was, "this goes beyond bad innuendo and sex, I have genuine feelings for you." That's what "real" means to each of them.

So good.

Excellent episode. So many laugh-out-loud moments (Step-Dan and "booties call me" being two of the highlights), a lot of heart (Lucifer's angst about Chloe calling their moments a mistake but also his happiness because Mum and Amenadiel were seemingly rooting for him) and the perfect amount of romance (a lovely scene

I'm pretty sure there was a S1 quote of his about a (literal) devil's threesome, no? Though they never did give him a, say, male Britney love interest, I think they made it clear Lucifer was bi. Not that it couldn't have been clearer, of course. I feel this episode made up for that.
