It’s not manipulative and it’s in fact the ONLY way to find out if they are okay with it before doing it!  My team is work is all huggy and they know I’m not.  I told them I’m not, so they don’t hug me.  No problem.

I agree with you, but this goes so far beyond “police overreach” in my opinion. I have very little doubt that this man was abused because ONE COP decided he wanted to do it.  The fact that ANY doctor agreed to do this in the end makes me shudder.
