I’m not a perfectionist - probably the opposite! - but as a result i often settle for whatever i decide on even if i hate it. Only in the past couple of years have i gotten over my stubbornness enough to RETURN THINGS if i don’t like them. Holy cats is that liberating. What little decision anxiety i used to have has

Hard Eight sounds familiar; i will look into it. I may have seen it 10 years ago and just flat don’t remember.

Most wide release movies these days are mediocre at best, i concur, but i still find little gems on Netflix now and then. The oddball ones, like Oculus, Mr Jones, The Bay, The Witch, ones that at first are

Your user icon was a huge clue ;)

I do research, specifically chemical development for a medium sized CRO. About half of what i do is process development to get thing suitable for GMP or plant production, and the other half is straight up med chem style synthesis/deliverables. I love it even while it drives me nuts

Stars for the David Sedaris reference, not for the shirt. (My hips prevented me from being able to wear men’s cut shirts in my late 20s, which sucks, because they are generally better made and cheaper.)

True, but if the minutes taker is accurate in whom suggested specific action items, it can work itself out organically. Once the minutes are published it’s there in black and white for everyone to see, forever.

But it’s better to have people in agreement to do it consciously, in the moment, of course.

To each their own. I bike commuted for years when i worked in Central and Kendall Squares, Cambridge. My favorite part was having people swerve their cars around me*, yelling and swearing**, as they rushed home to get to the gym.

And yes, my thighs were MASSIVE and yes, i loved it.

*I was in the legal bike lane.

No shit. Learn to track stand like the rest of us.

As i was stopped at a red light on the Cambridge/Somerville border, i once yelled at a fellow cyclist who ran that light. Startled, he looked back over his shoulder at me....and got tboned by a car going through the green for them.

He was unhurt, so i only feel about 1 % guilty.

I only see my nephews once a year. My brother would murder me if i showed up with a year’s worth of tubes ;)

One of the finest movies ever crafted. I need to make Manfriend watch that soon. He keeps putting it off.

I have a lab accident about every other year. Come work with me and i’ll keep you employed FOREVER ;)

Tempted. I normally wear leather shoes for the chemical resistance, but finding a durable, comfortable work shoe is tough. I wonder if you could coat them with something chemical resistant to make them lab safe?

I have never gotten autopay to work with a fluxuating balance. I do have certain amounts set up through my bank at the same amount every month for things that don’t vary much, like utilities, internet, insurance. But for things like credit card where the balance can change? Ahhhhhhhhh nope. I’d rather just debit

Oh, this too. I used to be the finance chair for a small business, and i would actually sell my favorite bartender singles at the beginning of a busy night. His manager never left him enough singles to get through a night without a bank run, and i hated bringing singles allllll they way to the bank, so it was a

This might be my favorite book of all time. I read it in almost 1 sitting on a bus trip from FL to NY several years back. it’s amazing. Words don’t begin to describe my love for this book.

And is it also tube free? Because if so, i’m keenly interested.

An excellent example of how people’s brains just fundamentally differ. You value the $1000K in rewards enough to prioritize opening your credit card webpage and making a payment every month. I prioritize knowing that i have no credit card balance by simply not using the thing except for things like roofs or water

Not entirely true for everybody. If you own a home, having a credit card for things larger than your emergency cash makes sense. I don’t have $8K lying around to buy a new roof with, for example, but i could pay that off my credit card in 2-3 months. That’s better, IMHO, than having the leak worsen and melt the

I used to, but i discovered if i ran a tab they would “forget” to charge me 1-2 drinks. If i pay cash as i go they charge for every single drink. So it was saving me $5-10 a night to go that route.

Plus the time savings of helping the bartender not have to cash out after every drink adds up and helps my friends (both

I have not found a recycled one yet. I get Scott brand which can be found in local stores, but i just get the 32 (or whatever) pack from Amazon subscribe and save. I go through about one every 3 months when i live alone, but now with 2 people it’s up to about 1 per 2 months.

AND ZERO TUBES IT’S AMAZING
