Not excusing Adam for anything, but in Hebrew the word for “Leave” and “Vacation” are identical. Sick leave, maternity leave, etc. So in Hebrew “Maternity Leave ”uses the Hebrew equivalent for “Maternity Vacation” The word “kufsha” means vacation, leave or even “freedom”.
