It may have ludicrous knock-on effects (like people intentionally placing 2nd), but I’d actually like to see the one victorious championship and you’re out model applied to F1 as well. It’d mix things up a lot more - if you’re a fan of a particular driver, you can then follow them to some other series, and it’d free

Whoof. I have an e90 M3, and like how it looks. I’d never buy a car with that face. I never got used to the GIANT GRILLE Audi design language, and I never got used to the Lexus “Spindle Grille”. I don’t think there’s any way I’m gonna come around to the 00-era of BMWs.

Just remember: When someone talks authoritatively on a subject you know about, and it turns out that they have no idea what they’re talking about, the next time you hear them talking authoritatively about something you don’t know about, you can still assume they have no idea what they’re talking about.

Someone who is

iOS App Store 2008 all over again. 100%. I lived through that as a developer and hated the end result. If the Switch follows the same trajectory, it’ll be a sad situation for *everyone*.

... someone with a P100D would jump to a Taycan? Why? Just because they want something different... and slower?

Yeah, but you’ve never driven an EV Porsche. There’s limitations to what’s possible with a more than 5,000 pound car. So I’m sure the Porsche will have an edge on the S (I say that as the owner of an S), but I wouldn’t make any assumptions about how much better, given that the thing both of them have to deal with

Racing isn’t short on talent, it’s short on opportunity. Folks with talent turn out to be dangerous, inconsiderate assholes? Get rid of ‘em, make way for the next person. There’s literally no one in racing right now where if you got rid of them, their presence wouldn’t immediately be filled with someone just as

Yeah, Dan Ticktum should never drive a race car in any format ever again. There, is that so hard?

All the folks whining about how people must dislike Ferruci because he’s a Trump supporter, you realize the guy was texting and driving in a racecar on a racetrack, and also intentionally collided with his teammate on a racetrack on the cooldown lap after the race?

I think the Trump support thing is just a comically

I played a few hours each of I Am Setsuna and Lost Sphear, and I just can’t believe how bad the writing is in these games. Setsuna’s overall story was a mess of bland cliches, but Lost Sphear had at least a few interesting ideas, but the dialog was horrendous. I don’t know whether it’s shoddy translation or awful

It is Carbonfiber Man!

I don’t get it. For $9M you could buy a Chiron & have the best coachbuilders in the world turn it into anything you want, and have something super-unique. Instead, you’d spend it on something that you hope might be an investment of some sort? The EB-110 is ... well, it’s kind of hideous. Then and now. But I suppose

The last bit, giving a different perspective on Clarkson’s eulogy for the naturally aspirated car, was great. What a great article.

No Phineas & Ferb???

I had a really similar experience playing an older game, “Papo & Yo”. It was clear that it resonated with a lot of people, and that it was trying to say something personal and meaningful, but it fell totally flat for me. I’m glad it exists, I’m glad people got something really good out of it, but it wasn’t for me. And

I really enjoy endurance racing. But man, I wish LMP1 cars just ... looked better. Mazda’s endurance racer? Gorgeous. Toyota’s LMP1 thing? Gah.

So, a bunch of comments (in addition to yours) say that the fines & the death of his F2 career are ramifications, but did *he* directly pay the fines? I’d suggest the chances of that are quite low. Being cut by your F2 team really doesn’t matter if you’re essentially immediately picked up by another team, and then end

How has “he realized being a hothead was detrimental to his career”? What was the price he paid, or the consequences he faced? More, what has he done since then to *show* that he’s changed? I’d suggest the answer is “nothing.”

The NISMO LMP1 program was *delightfully* ambitious. It’s a genuine shame that they were forced to run before they were ready, because that was the moment they were doomed to humiliating failure. But the core underlying mechanics of the project? Fantastic. I can’t help but admire, and be excited about, a project that

I’ve been playing games since the C64. I say that just to establish the context that I’m a savvy buyer who does the research, and usually knows what to expect out of a game.

I’ll never give Hello Games my money ever again, based on the original launch of NMS & the tidal wave of preorder hype they built on lies.
