Problem is, the M97 block was essentially a bored out M96 with nearly no modifications. In its stock form it has already severe cooling and lubrication issues. Putting even more heat and stress on the cylinder walls will work ... but not for long. There is a reason Porsche switched after only ~ 3 years from the M97s…
At least a robot tractor doesn’t have to deal with having killed kittens and bambis...

I think it would be better to invest those 3.500 $ in a reflecting coffin than paying reflecting 3.500$ for your car to be your coffin.
Problem is, that almost all the 80's cars who looked good, either still drew their designs from the 70's or were in fact early 90's designs. Unlike decades, trends tend not to have a sharp beginning and end.

30k $ (and this one definatly needs some extra cash spent) is Porsche money. Buy a 997 base model or a 996 Turbo or a 987 S and you have the looks and the power.

The Z1 has many unsolved technical issues, parts are a problem and reliability is too.
i had a 2008 9-3 Aero XWD and it destroyed everthing at the lights which wasn’t a real sportcar. A proper sleeper and still calm and silent @155mph Autobahn. But it didn’t corner, was as “heavy as an Escalade” and wasn’t able to do better than 13 mpg city. And you had to expect a failing timing chain every moment…
