I tried Airfoil last year but it ran like a dog on my old server (8yo intel e6300). Audio stuttered and was a garbled mess. It ran flawlessly on my gaming pc (6yo i5-750). Maybe this version will improve on that but since then I found TuneBlade which streams flawlessly. Bonus points for it having an easier to use API…

Is it possible to power an rPi zero by connecting it to USB speakers? If I had a Type A to 2x MicroUSB cable to connect both the data and power ports on the rPi? This would be awesome for adding airplay to a pair of usb speakers I have. Thanks :)

I have to disagree with this chart if you use it as a monitor (HTPC etc). My 47” 1080P tv is 10’ away and I can see the pixel cells, most noticeably on white backgrounds (text heavy webpages).
